As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will arrange economical transportation of product to our retail locations by communicating with various internal groups (Product Supply, Accounting, etc.) and third-party carriers and suppliers to ensure each location is supplied with product on a daily basis.

 

The Supply Chain Analyst also monitors and evaluates the cost of supply for natural gas and electricity for our subsidiary, Agway Energy Services (AES), as well as procures and schedules natural gas in selected geographies. Additionally, you will oversee AES teleservice operations and work with vendors to grow our customer base and ensure quality sales.

Responsibilities

Dispatch

  • Coordinate propane supply logistics including contract performance, monthly liftings and location logistics, and storage levels
  • Collect and analyze origin reports to determine source selection based on contract requirements
  • Ensure locations never run out of propane by manipulating individual scenarios (using different carriers, alternative supply, etc.) and keeping locations informed on delivery status when applicable
  • Analyze and input data utilizing SAP and Microsoft Office products (i.e. truck loads, locations and load information)
  • Analyze daily propane and refined products’ inventory levels, contract performance and pricing reports for scheduling purposes.  Determine and distribute work assignments to outside common carriers
  • Coordinate with internal rail dispatch where applicable
  • Cross train for and handle duties of other Product Administrators in cases of temporary absence
  • Special projects and other duties as requested by Management

 Renewables

  • Maintain and update project data including but not limited to budget information, production and input data, and project timeline data
  • Generate management reports
  • Assists in mandatory state and federal reporting

Natural Gas & Electricity Supply

  • Economically procure and schedule natural gas for self-supplied utilities
  • Gain understanding of entire natural gas supply chain including pipelines, basis, utilities, GTOPs, tariffs and other costs, and our supply contracts to reduce our cost of supply
  • Develop knowledge of power market including ISOs, electricity products, cost of supply and our supply contracts to reduce our cost of supply
  • Establish and maintain utility, pipeline and ISO contacts and interfaces
  • Ensure the timely delivery of commodity supply at competitive costs
  • Understand competitors’ products and offerings to increase competitive advantage
  • Assist in the negotiation of natural gas and electricity supply contracts
  • Revise and maintain the Supplier Disaster Recovery document
  • Maintain current records and contracts for natural gas and electricity supply requirements
  • Update management regarding natural gas and electricity supply chain and cost of supply reductions

Teleservices

  • Assist in the development of telemarketing sales programs, sales scripts and TPV scripts
  • Develop and use analytics to evaluate the performance of teleservices vendors based on quantity, quality and cost of acquisition

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree preferred and/or equivalent related work experience in Supply Chain, Dispatch, or Scheduling
  • Basic knowledge of computer concepts including Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of fuel delivery concepts and practices
  • Transportation dispatch experience preferred
  • Some knowledge of natural gas and electricity supply is preferred
