As a Safety Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple functions within the Safety, Engineering, Environmental and Training Department to monitor compliance with company, federal, state and local safety laws, rules, regulations and codes.  Govern, organize and execute compliance programs and procedures to monitor training programs in cooperation with the Department to provide operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Corporate Compliance training functions, ensuring that DOT; PUCO; PHMSA; OSHA; State Regulatory Agencies (i.e. Weights & Measures; Fire Safety) and all pertinent operating licenses are current to ensure continued/uninterrupted Field Operations; Involves compiling data and creating reports for required agencies
  • Maintains Safety Intranet Website for content and required policy updates
  • Assists in developing and coordinating Safety Department projects with Training Manager assistance in completing project tasks and acts as a liaison between appropriate corporate departments and retail locations
  • Provides updates and maintenance of safety policies and procedures and coordinates with Safety/Training Management in development, revision, publication and implementation
  • Coordinates centralized compliance and maintenance activities
  • Serves as the Training (EPA, State & Local Environmental Reporting) Coordinator - and responsible for developing an automated reporting system for future reporting years
  • Processes Operational requests for training courses (CETP/ITS; OSHA Forklift Training; DOT Reasonable Suspicion) and provides answers regarding Technical Training program requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of the various regulatory agencies and their standards (OSHA; DOT; EPA, etc.)
  • High competency in MS Word, Excel, Access and other engineering based software applications
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
